MTN SOUTH AFRICA HAS A NEW CEO!

Africa's biggest telecom company has been facing many turbulences since the beginning of 2025. One more, there has been a shake-up with the sudden replacement of Charles Molapisi. We hope that this is not the end of the livestream that former MTN South Africa CEO Charles was doing on LinkedIn. I particularly enjoyed the Q&A and how flexible he was in answering the live questions presented by viewers and customers. We suspect the financial turbulence that MTN faces is the real reason behind Charles' stepping down. We welcome the appointment of Mr. Ferdi Moolman and wish him the best.

While MTN Group is trying to diversify its portfolio from a traditional telecom company to a tech and innovation brand, this might not be an easy turn. Yolanda Cuba, the current MTN Group's vice president for Southern and East Africa is also stepping down. She will become the deputy CEO and an executive director of MTN South Africa. There is much to unfold when it comes to the leadership shake up within the MTN Group, and we will make sure to keep you updated.
